Costume and Props - Post Apocolyptic Films

I this post-apocalyptic film I would expect to see the males dressed in thick clothes, for protection and warmth and carrying all of their belongings, such as other clothes, boots and weapons. Also the main woman character is first introduces wearing a little night dress, long brushed clean hair and clean skin but ends with her wearing protective clothing, also carrying weapons and belongings, this change maybe depends on locations.	In this post-apocalyptic movie,  the main character dresses in casual clothes and this maybe suggests he thinks things are normal, and that he should just get on with his life. He uses props like bags, guns, and also his dog, used as protection.
